No matter what team you choose, you will get access to brand new, exciting app features! We've made some game-changing improvements to this Challenge experience, providing you with all the training, nutrition, mindset, accountability and support that you need to create your dream shape.
We know that nutrition is often one of the most difficult aspects of a health and fitness journey, so we listened to your feedback and revamped all aspects of nutrition features in the app. From new recipes to completely revamped meal guides, we can’t wait to share with you what we’ve been working on!
This blog is all about giving you a breakdown of the new and improved nutrition features, as well as answer some of the F.A.Q.s!
Nutrition features breakdown
As always, before the Challenge starts, you will receive a comprehensive questionnaire, including questions about your body composition, goals and nutrition preferences/restrictions. Once this information is provided, we will start working on your meal guide, customized to YOUR goals and preferences!
Your nutritional targets will now be a part of the new interactive dashboard, where your calories and macros goals will update for you throughout the day!
If you choose the Macros + Meal Guide option, you will also enjoy our completely new meal guides, perfectly tailored to your energy and macronutrient requirements!
These now come with precise macros and calories displayed based on your meals - and these targets will update if you choose to swap some of the recommended ingredients.
Each meal in your Meal Guide will now come with a recommended recipe created by our BBR Chef Zoe and approved by a team of Dietitians - quick, easy, delicious and perfectly tailored to your recommended amounts of ingredients!
You can still swap ingredients if preferred - and your macros will update accordingly.
And of course, you will also have access to the Food Journal and the Freestyle Macros, which will let you further customize your nutrition and gain complete control of your diet while staying flexible.

What are the key features of the Meal Guides?
We have listened to our clients’ feedback and created completely new Meal Guides with cohesive combinations of ingredients, which translate easily into quick, delicious meals!
Even better, each meal now comes with its own recipe idea, which is perfect if you’re just finding your way in the kitchen or are looking for inspiration.
Our extensive library of macro-friendly recipes is also at your disposal in case you want to change things up a bit. And as always, at each check-in you can request a completely different Meal Guide for even more variety.
How do the Food Swaps work?
The Food Swap feature is now more informative and precise, with overall calories and macros updating when you choose to swap your default options! Even the “cleanest” swaps are slightly different from the original option in most cases, and we would like to be very transparent about that to showcase that hitting your macros to the gram isn’t required to achieve great results.
Do you cater to dietary restrictions?
The new Meal Guides cater to the following restrictions and preferences:
- Gluten Free
- Dairy Free
- Nut Free (no peanuts or tree nuts)
- Red Meat Free
- Vegetarian (with dairy)
While certain combinations of restrictions are not available by default, the Food Swaps can be utilised to further customize your Meal Guide!
Will the Macros Only option be available?
Yes - we will continue offering the Macros Only option for those who prefer planning their own meals based on the macronutrient breakdown provided.
I am vegan - are the new Meal Guides suitable for me?
We have completely revamped the vegan Meal Guides to include a more realistic macronutrient split for meeting protein requirements. Furthermore, most new Meal Guides are completely free of "fake meats" (there's still a couple for those who prefer them).
If you have no other dietary restrictions and are looking for a vegan meal guide with exciting recipes, you'll love the Macros + Meal Guide option in the new app. However if you have any additional restrictions (e.g. gluten free, soy free, etc), we recommend going with Macros Only.
